London Alley Launches Development Division

At London Alley, we leverage our roots in music video production to empower diverse voices and stories. As part of our ongoing efforts to champion diverse talent and appeal to a wide, media savvy audience, we recently hired Hunter Maats as the Head of Development for our new Film/TV division. Bringing a globe-trotting background and a former career in education along with him, Hunter is the perfect fit to guide our mission to unite the best creative minds to develop the highest quality of storytelling. Leading the charge with his own development deal at HBO, Maats is excited to apply dramatic storytelling as a vehicle to drive cross-cultural understanding and get the best ideas out of books and onto our screens. As we evolve the frontiers of a London Alley production, we are proud to kick off our development slate with collaborations with Mena Massoud, Project 10, and Calvary Media.

Our passion for new voices in television lends itself to working with Mena Massoud’s Press Play Productions, where we are focused on bridging the gap between Hollywood and international markets, with projects such as the currently in development series Black Gold. Massoud is a strong voice in advocating for increased diversity in visual media, and by partnering with London Alley, Massoud said that together we will “address a significant gap in the marketplace and continue to diversify on screen representation,” strengthening our commitment to amplifying multicultural voices through our work.

In other development news, we are partnering with Project 10 to develop a scripted series. “London Alley is synonymous with groundbreaking marketing campaigns and music videos and we’re thrilled to be working with them on a new scripted comedy series we’re packaging right now,” said Andrew Barnsley – Executive Producer of Schitt’s Creek, Emmy and Golden Globe Winner, and CEO of Project 10 – noted, adding his excitement for “the first of many projects with Hunter and Andrew.”

Finally we are excited to be in development on the stop motion feature, DOUG, with directing duo WATTS. Together with Hunter and our entire team at London Alley we are marrying the remarkable world of WATTS with music and the big screen.

We look forward to exploring these partnerships and to developing our shared vision of high quality, diverse, and authentic storytelling.
